KING NEPTUNE Gathers His Minions King Neptune calls his minions together. Hi everybody, King Neptune here, and I bring a message of Love, and Peace, to the world. Please join me as I lay the myth to rest, and prove conclusively, once, and for all time, that when I call my dolphin, they always show. My darling sea creatures, they are so sweet, kind, and intelligent. If I was hungry, they would drive a school of fish up onto the beach to feed me. I am not hungry now, and they can't just flip out one single fish, anyway. They would herd a whole school to my feet, enough to feed Los Angeles for a week! Thanks anyway, guys, I already ate! ;-) If I wanted to travel up and down the coasts, two porpoises would line up side by side, then I straddle them, standing tall on their backs. It is a short hop to Malibu on the right/ Santa Monica, or Venice Beach, to the left. I only get my feet wet to the ankles. They swim in tandem with exquisite synchronicity, providing a stable platform, even at high speeds. I do not use a leash, they are smarter than me, and know where I want to go. They read the light off of my face. Oh yes, I fall into the water, but it is rarely their fault. We have a wonderful, joyous, giggly, high-pitched laugh together. They are very loving, and have close knit families who depend on them. Please, be kind to my sea community. Mammals, fish, mollusks, bi-valves, they are all your friends, and in your network. You, too, can easily connect with them. Let it happen. Let peace in the world happen. The trident I carry is not a sugarless gum. It is to poke the butt of people who are, at this very moment, wreaking havoc, and destruction, on a massive scale. Ocean communities are being decimated of the larger progenitors, populations cannot restock. Dragging bottoms, and long lines, are documented to indescriminately kill, destroying the habitat for regeneration. Do the math. Vast swaths are maimed each day, some large processing boats never come into land! Never harm a baby seal. Never, ever, again. I have spoken. update (April '07): I have been informed that Canada is allowing a new baby seal slaughter to begin. I order you to stop, do not harm one. Don't make me come up there. (c) 2006 Paul L.
